Hello, my name is Cameron Bailes. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois. I focus on recovery, meeting my clients’ goals, and being with them on their journey. I believe in being genuine.
My approach
I am currently certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Advanced Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health. I am familiar with and practice CAMS care for managing suicidal ideation as well as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. I also employ EFT and Narrative Therapy.
My focus
I currently work with adolescents, adults, and older adults in a variety of ways. I have experience working with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, Substance/Addiction issues, Binge Eating/Emotional Eating Disorders, and Schizophrenia. I have worked with clients from all walks of life including Veterans.
My communication style
I try to be authentic and honest in every aspect of life. Other clients have described me as caring and gentle with thoughts and suggestions. I try to tailor the experience of therapy to my client’s needs and desires.
My journey to mental healthcare
I believe that recovery is possible with all mental health conditions. I have always enjoyed psychology, sociology, and listening. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know people where they are and helping them realize their own strengths and potential.
My goals for you
Goals are always collaborative because I don’t know what your life is like since I have never been in your shoes. I do not believe in setting goals that are not aligned with your values and goals.
My first session with you
The first session is always more questions, gaining information about what is going on that brought you here, and whether or not we are a good fit. The reality of therapy is that it only works if you are comfortable with your therapist and that’s what we will find out together.
