My name is Lisa Cuevas Fuechtmann, LCPC. I am a Master’s level clinician with over 16 years of experience in the field of mental health including working with both children & adults in school, military, and community mental health settings.
My approach
I typically work from a cognitive behavioral framework & also use psychodynamic techniques. I also utilize DBT and person-centered techniques.
My focus
I enjoy working with people going through life transitions, military, veterans, first responders, and couples.
My communication style
My dream client is looking for a counselor who takes a causal approach to therapy. Someone who likes to feel like they are venting to a friend while knowing that professional boundaries are in place. I enjoy working with people going through life transitions, military service members, veterans, first responders, LGBTQ+, kink-friendly, and Pagan clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always loved to help others and it seemed like a natural career choice. I have also always been very interested in human behavior. This led me to study psychology and eventually counseling.
My goals for you
I like to let clients take the lead in goal setting while gently helping to keep them on track.
My first session with you
Clients should expect to be able to jump in and talk about their issues. They will lead the direction of the session. They should expect an empathetic listener who does not typically give "homework".
