Hello! My name is Andrea Reed, LCPC. I believe people enter therapy because they want something to change; to improve the quality of their life. Whatever the issue, change is possible.
My approach
You are the expert of your life. You will decide what your sessions look like and I will support you on your journey. I typically use an eclectic blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral skill sets, and client-centered therapy.
My focus
I primarily work with adolescents and adults. I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, stress, relationship problems, and grief. Also, in working through life transitions, personal growth, and understanding thoughts feelings, and behaviors.
My communication style
It is important to me to create a safe and inviting environment for each client. You decide what your sessions will look like. I will support you by listening and providing the tools and resources you need to reach your therapy goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always wanted to be a therapist. I am passionate about mental and emotional wellness and want to support others in pursuit of it. I completed my education after raising a family. It is never too late and you are never too old to reach your dreams or achieve your goals! I carry this attitude into everything I do.
My goals for you
What are your goals? Maybe personal growth, making a change, or healing? We will work together to identify your goals and the steps to meet them. We will also explore your strengths.
My first session with you
During the first session, we will typically talk about what brought you into therapy, your concerns and desired outcomes, as well as what is going well in your life. We will discuss your expectations for how sessions will flow. You may have questions for me, too. I will always check in with you at the end of each session.
