Hi there, I'm Samantha!

Samantha Hodge-Tracy, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) My current focus has been for children age 5 to 17 and adults ranging from 18 to 30. My current approach is Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Creative Art Therapy.

My approach

As a dedicated Mental Health Therapist, I bring a wealth of experience in helping clients of all ages navigate through life's challenges. My approach is integrative, utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Creative Art Therapy to tailor treatments to each individual’s unique needs.

My focus

I am passionate about empowering clients to overcome anxiety, depression, ADHD, and ODD. Through evidence-based techniques and a compassionate approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals.

My communication style

Creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment is at the heart of my therapeutic approach. I believe that a positive and welcoming atmosphere enhances the effectiveness of therapy. My practice is designed to be a space where clients feel comfortable and encouraged to express themselves freely. By incorporating creative and interactive activities, I ensure that therapy sessions are not only effective but also enjoyable and engaging.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a mental health counselor has been a deeply personal and transformative experience. From a young age, I was drawn to understanding the human mind and the complexities of emotions and behaviors. This curiosity led me to study psychology, where I discovered my passion for helping others navigate their mental health challenges. My drive to do this work comes from a deep-seated belief in the power of therapy to heal and transform lives. I am motivated by the courage of my clients who confront their struggles and work towards better mental health. Their resilience inspires me to continually enhance my skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care. I am also driven by a desire to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. I understand that starting therapy can be daunting, and I am committed to building a trusting therapeutic relationship that fosters growth and healing.

My goals for you

I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives. My goal is to help my clients discover their inner strength and resilience, enabling them to live more fulfilling and balanced lives, which creates a space for parents, clients, and others to develop meaningful goals. Through a blend of traditional therapeutic techniques and creative approaches, I am committed to making therapy a positive and impactful experience for every individual I work with.

My first session with you

Warmly welcome the client and introduce yourself. Briefly explain your background, qualifications, and therapeutic approach (e.g., DBT, CBT, Creative Art Therapy). Ask the client what brought them to therapy and what they hope to achieve. Collaboratively identify and clarify the client's goals for therapy. Gather relevant personal history, including past mental health treatment, medical history, and significant life events. Discuss the client's current concerns, symptoms, and challenges. Summarize what was discussed during the session and reaffirm the goals identified. Offer words of encouragement and express your commitment to supporting the client through their therapeutic journey.
