Katie Wilson, LCPC received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University in 2003. She has worked as a clinician for over 20 years. Katie also has experience in education and spent several years teaching Psychology at a local college. Katie believes that assisting clients manage their mental health is only part of the treatment process. She believes in helping her clients reach their full potential. Katie is completing his a PhD in adult education and with a research emphasis on attachment and posttraumatic growth.
My approach
Katie specializes in trauma, and largely utilizes EMDR in conjunction with attachment theory/therapy. She has done extensive research on attachment theory, posttraumatic growth and human flourishing and has published several journal articles in this area.
My focus
I typically work with adults and specialize in trauma. I have years of experience with grief and loss, depression and anxiety, neuro divergence, and the queer community.
My communication style
I am strength-based in my practice and place emphasis on posttraumatic growth and human flourishing. My approach is supportive in nature and I believe that education is an important part of therapy.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been fascinated with human behavior and cognitive functioning. I have wanted to be a therapist for as far back as I can remember. The most rewarding aspect of this job is helping clients become their authentic selves and flourish.
