Hi, I'm Cassie Holdcroft! I'm a licensed professional counselor in GA, TX, HI, and AL who loves helping people discover how awesome they are while dealing with the stress and strife life throws at us. This provider resides in Hawaii.
My approach
I use a lot of different skills and techniques to help my clients improve with a centered focus on reality therapy, choice theory, and narrative therapy. I believe that laughter is one of the greatest medicines: if we can laugh about it, we can talk about it. Overall, it's my job to help you find comfort and solace in yourself and in life.
My focus
My preferred clients are those who have recognized the ends of their knowledge and are seeking to continue the progress already started. If you've ever said, "I know this isn't right, but I don't know how to get better," I might be the right person for you!
My communication style
I use a lot of description styles in my professional communication; one of my favorite things to say is, "Paint me a word picture." I do this specifically to make sure I'm understanding exactly what you're saying so that you feel the genuine investment I have in you and your progress. I provide the safety of a confidant, the neverending support of a pet, and the helpful hand of a caregiver.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became interested in being a therapist when I had my own experience with family therapy as a teenager. It wasn't great, in all honesty, and it sparked my interest in why people do what they do. As I went through my high school years, I found myself being the friend people came to when they needed someone to listen, which confirmed this was the field for me!
My goals for you
I treat every client journey like a road trip with no cell phone service: you have the wheel, I have the maps, and we'll get there as soon as we can! This allows for pit stops along the way, like when life throws curveballs, as well as changing routes as needed.
My first session with you
The first session is always a little rough; I have to collect and provide a lot of information, so I'm not able to be as colorful as I am in following sessions. I pre-apologize for this, but legal and ethical mandates require I let you know what to expect from the start. I also let my first-time clients know that this is not a set-in-stone commitment. If we're not a good fit, let's find you someone who is!
