Hi there, I'm Amy!

Hello, my name is Amy Yang and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Hawaii and working with clients statewide via telehealth. Whether you're facing depression, anxiety, substance abuse, bereavement, or a difficult transition, I believe you have the power to change within. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and life stressors using a collaborative approach to help my clients make progress and grow.

My approach

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently take a creative and collaborative approach with you to make positive changes and believe that setting goals and maintaining balance in life is part of the journey. I use Expressive Art Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused therapy.

My focus

I have extensive experience working with children and adults, including military families. I work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and life stressors. I work to help my clients navigate through life difficulties and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style

While working with me, you'll have a supportive and safe environment to share your stories and your experiences in a non-judgmental space.

My journey to mental healthcare

I’ve always had a passion for helping others. I started out working with children and that is when my interest in the mental health field grew. I continued my education to obtain my master's degree in marriage and family therapy. Over the past years, I gained experience working with a diverse population. I enjoy when others come to me to talk about the hardship they are experiencing and being able to provide them with feedback and/or guidance.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is collaborative. We'll work together to set goals and track progress along the way.

My first session with you

The first session is building rapport to get to know you and gather information. I like to listen to your story first to understand how we will be moving forward in therapy.
