Aloha, I'm Kaytie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys learning about my clients' strengths and supporting them in any way possible to reach their goals and happiness.
My approach
I utilize client-centered strength, and solution-focused modalities. I believe that my clients are the experts in their lives. They have a good understanding of their problems/concerns, even though at times, it can feel like there may not be a solution. My role as a therapist would be to explore different options/solutions using their strengths, insights, and personal experiences to solve the problems.
My focus
I have worked with older teenagers and adults who experience Anxiety, Depression, Low self-esteem, Big changes in life, Relationship problems, Domestic violence ( as abuser and survivor), and Grief from losing a loved one.
My communication style
I would like to create a safe space and non-judgmental environment to encourage my clients to feel comfortable in sharing their stories. With clients' openness, I would challenge their old beliefs and negative self-talk, to encourage positive changes.
My journey to mental healthcare
My friends and clients often tell me that I am a good listener and that they feel better after talking to me. I would like to share this positive energy with others and journey alongside new clients as a therapist. Life can be tough at times and it is okay to not be okay.
My goals for you
I would like my clients to come to the first session with some goals in mind. Therapy sessions are used to explore ways to reach their goals by creating smaller, reachable objectives together. Clients then practice new skills in their daily lives and check in at the next session.
My first session with you
The first session would be to get to know the clients in all areas of their lives as time allows. The clients will be doing most of the talking/sharing of their strengths, problems, and goals.
