Hi there, I'm Cindy!

Aloha, Cindy Teramoto, LCSW here. My clients say that I’m nonjudgmental, easy to talk with, and insightful. They leave feeling seen, heard, and valued. Moreover, they leave feeling hopeful, even inspired and invigorated.

My approach

Getting help from the right therapist, coach or advisor can be the difference between hoping for better and actually having and living better. While long-term therapy has its place, I excel at helping people who want to feel better quickly by utilizing key habits that have been proven to increase happiness, peace and joy.

My focus

If you’ve felt anxious, depressed, lost or just empty and you’re committed to take action to feel joy, ease, purpose and connection - let’s go! I work with people of all ethnicities from around the world. Those who have a deep connection to their ancestral land, especially Hawaii, to their spiritual side and to the world of alternative healing seem to resonate best with my work.

My communication style

The magic of therapy is in the client/therapist relationship. I’m engaged in our conversations, I can be challenging if needed and quiet when appropriate. I will infuse teachings and Laws of the Universe when it’s helpful for clients to feel less alone in their experience of the world. Working with me feels much like spending time with a kind, loving but tough sage who has just the right trick up her sleeve to share with you to resolve your situation.

My journey to mental healthcare

I didn’t dream of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. While I come from a lineage of healers on my mom’s Hawaiian side, I had other plans to facilitate international relationships in business before I was steered to the world of emotions and mental health. I’m grateful for the schooling I received for my degree, but the real school was life itself. I was tested with challenges and struggles - that I often felt like I was failing. Fast forward to today, and I’m here, helping others get through the challenges of life that I’ve gotten tripped up on - I have a perspective that offers hope, stories that offer lessons - and…shortcuts to a life of ease and happiness.

My goals for you

Goals, intentions, or simply where you want to end up are key in our work together. They are YOUR goals, but I’m here to help you clarify, visualize, and capitalize on the power of having and stating them.

My first session with you

You may show up at our first session just waiting to vent your frustration about your current life - or you may feel scared and freeze up and not know where to start. Either way, I’ll guide you through, give you space for whatever feelings arise, maybe do some centering and grounding work together to help you settle into the ease of our work together. We’ll find out where you are, where you want to be and together come up with a plan on how to get there.
