Hi, my name is Chris Chur. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I'm glad you're taking the steps to grow through therapy. I would like to promote unconditional positive regard, empathy, and internal locus of control to help you discover a happier, healthier, and more confident version of yourself!
My approach
The counseling approaches I am familiar with are cognitive-behavioral, humanistic person-centered, psychodynamic, attachment theory, psycho-education, existential, reality choice, motivational interviewing, Christian Biblical approaches, spiritual formation, marriage and family, and integrative/eclectic approaches to therapy.
My focus
I have experience in helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, loneliness, break ups, family conflicts, motivation, confidence, self-esteem, spirituality, addictive behaviors, grief, and taking responsibility.
My communication style
I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I advocate for holistic health as a means to thrive and find healing.
My journey to mental healthcare
It's deeply rewarding to see clients overcome their challenges, discover new perspectives toward change, and find a greater sense of happiness, health, and meaning.
My goals for you
I collaborate with clients and encourage them to create realistic goals both short and long-term by taking healthy small steps in the right direction. I encourage clients to take responsibility and greater control over their thoughts, emotions, behavior, habits, and choices.
My first session with you
During the first session, I will obtain information primarily through general interviewing questions to assess the client's background, stressors, and needs. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling empowered, encouraged, and hopeful towards transformation, recovery, and healing.
