Aloha, my name is Natalia Werkoff. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with Certifications in Substance Abuse Counselor and Perinatal Mental Health. I have over 10 years of working with adults experiencing various life stressors.
My approach
I find the therapeutic relationship between individuals I work with and myself to be at the forefront of my work. I offer a non-judgemental approach to offer a safe space for my clients to feel welcome and worthy.
My focus
I have worked with clients coming from people from marginalized communities, including LGBT+, poverty, and trauma survivors. I specialize in dual diagnosis, ranging from substance use, to anxiety, and psychosis.
My communication style
I offer a calm and nurturing space in my sessions. Clients report feeling "lighter" when working with me. I offer an environment where your experience is validated.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was inspired to become a therapist by my mother, who studied psychology and shared stories of her work in a psychiatric hospital with me. I found interest in the human brain and how it affects our spirit. I believe that we can all improve our mental health through intention and have found honor in holding space for others.
My goals for you
I trust my clients to be experts in their experience. I share my observations and suggest approaches towards improvements when working with clients but let them take the lead on dictating their goals and how I can be most helpful to them.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will introduce myself and typically complete an assessment so that I can get an understanding of your goals and how various factors may affect them. Of course, we can hold off on the assessment if you have an immediate concern to discuss.
