My name is Victoria Domingo, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Honolulu, Hawaii. I use an attachment-based and person-centered approach to therapy to support adolescents, adults, and couples getting through the ups and downs of life.
My approach
With a background in Marriage and Family Therapy, I take a non-judgmental stance to understand each individual systemically as a whole- mentally, physically, emotionally, and relationally. I aim to build a safe place for everyone to feel heard and understood in order to genuinely walk alongside each client's personal journey.
My focus
I found that my approach is a good fit for teens, young adults, and new couples, married and pre-marital, who need support when dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relational conflict.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, collaborative, and authentic. I love creating a therapeutic environment where those who seek help can feel comfortable sharing their experiences openly and at their own pace. My goal is to understand their story through their perspective and then share my therapeutic insight.
My journey to mental healthcare
What drives me to do this work is simple, transformation and connection. Individually and relationally, it can be difficult to find someone willing to see life through your eyes and your relationship, who'll unbiasedly listen. I strongly believe that we are not meant to go through the ups and downs of life alone. My goal is to help as many people as I can feel understood, seen, and accepted while instilling hope and motivation to reach their optimal potential as a whole: mentally, physically, emotionally, and relationally.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is all about meeting my clients where they're presently at. After determining a good client-therapist fit, we will work together to first clearly define what you want to accomplish during our time together. Then, we'll take one step at a time and explore actionable objectives to find the best way you are able to get to your intended goal. Over time, we will set check-ins to track and gauge our progress.
My first session with you
During our first session together, you can expect me to ask you to share a bit about yourself, your background, why you're seeking therapy, and what you hope to accomplish. I like to tell my clients that this first session is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have, as well as describe the type of therapist/therapy journey you're looking for. From here, we can determine if we make a good fit and if there are any resources or referrals I can provide for you if not. If we determine a good fit, we'll collaboratively set up ground rules and the structure of our time together, and then off on our journey we'll go!
