Hi, my name is Tatiana Abasolo and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I help clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and many others utilizing a person-centered approach.
My approach
I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach as well as other treatment modalities for trauma. I believe each client has a unique experience and I utilize a blend of all treatment modalities depending on a client's needs.
My focus
I work with adolescents and teens as well as adults. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
My communication style
I create a non-judgmental environment for my clients. I meet my clients where they are and place an emphasis on their goals for their therapeutic journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
In 2013 I decided to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology. Prior to this decision, I was working in the emergency room as an emergency room technician with the intention of becoming a nurse. Throughout the seven years I worked in the emergency room, I realized many of our patients were suffering from mental health issues that caused their physical symptoms. While I enjoyed the medical field, I wanted to be able to help people in ways I wasn't able to in the emergency room. After graduating from my master's program, I worked with Army soldiers in a behavioral health clinic for four years. I realized the impact the military has on our service members. Each of these experiences drives me to do the work that I do. I feel empowered to learn more so I can provide the best care to my clients.
My goals for you
Goal setting is personal and individualized to each client. It is essential for clients to establish goals that motivate them.
My first session with you
A first session with me will include getting to know the client and understanding their goals for therapy. I will also be providing them with expectations for therapy if this is their first therapeutic experience.
