I’m Michael Milcetich-Tano a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I rely on a client-centered approach to treatment acknowledging your expertise on your life. My approach
Professionally there are many theoretical foundations to choose from. Experience has taught me life is a continuum and therefore it requires different approaches depending on the client’s needs. I use evidence-based approaches to help alleviate my client's challenges. I typically rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Bowen transgenerational model, Structural Family Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My focus
My clients historically have been varied. I have worked with adolescents, individual adults, couples, families with young children, families with teenagers of various cultures. I prefer to help without restrictions of race, culture, or orientation. ALL people are welcome.
My communication style
My communication style is one of empathic and compassionate understanding. I sometimes rely on humor if it’s needed.
My journey to mental healthcare
My vision of being a therapist began as a result of personal family tragedy. I’ve always enjoyed observing people both known and unknown. Seeing how families function differently from other relationships, I wanted to know more and learn to help families who are faced with life’s challenges.
