Hi, I'm Anna Murray, a therapist committed to helping individuals through life transitions. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20+ years of experience. Life can often hand us things that we are not prepared for. Events that can lead to anxiety, depression, or an overall feeling of not knowing what to do or how to cope. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to help my clients work through the twists and turns of life. I'm passionate about helping others find their way, being a nonjudgmental listener, and providing a safe space to share openly.
My approach
My specialty is guiding individuals through coping with the many transitions of life. Loss through divorce or death, career changes, and aging are just a few of the transitions that can often lead to a multitude of overwhelming feelings. My desire is to help you find your way and develop healthy coping strategies, embracing your transition. I use a multitude of approaches including cognitive behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness.
My focus
I primarily work with adults who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and grief due to life changes.
My communication style
I am an active listener with a judgment-free zone. I work hard to make clients feel comfortable and as if they are talking to someone they have known for years.
My journey to mental healthcare
I love to help people. My desire for helping others began in college when I became a volunteer and expanded as I began my career in social work. My drive is to see the change in people that they want to see in themselves.
My goals for you
I discuss goals collaboratively with my clients and allow them to prioritize what is most important. I like to break down goals into small steps to help facilitate success and to reduce feeling overwhelmed.
My first session with you
A conversation about why they are seeking therapy, what they are feeling, and what they would like for life to look like. I allow clients to talk openly asking open-ended questions so that they feel free to share.
