As a therapist, I believe it is important to walk in your purpose, and I believe I do that every day. My name is Laijun English, and I am a counselor that provides treatment for teen girls and women dealing with life’s challenges. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of GA.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is mainly CBT, which focuses on challenging those negative beliefs/thoughts and making them positive. However, I do use strategies from other therapeutic styles. So, whether you deal with anxiety, anger, depression, low self-esteem, grief/loss, daily stressors, trauma, or trials and tribulations, today is the day that you seek the help you need.
My focus
I work with teen girls ages 16 and up, along with women who are dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, grief, and women-specific issues.
My communication style
I create a safe environment with all of my clients. My tone will adapt to what my client needs in that moment. I have the ability to be both empathetic and firm when needed. My clients always feel welcome, never feel judged, and know that this is a safe space.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist for more than one reason. My first reason is because I had a loved one that was struggling with mental health at that time, and I wanted to be able to help her. She became my driving force but later it turned into wanting other people who look like me to understand that mental health should be just as important to us as anyone else.
My goals for you
I meet my clients where they are in their goals. I will ask for clarity to gain an understanding of what those goals mean to my clients and what they see for themselves at the end.
My first session with you
My first session is traditionally light. I truly want to get to know the people I serve and figure out how to best serve you.
