Hello, I am Vershonda Scott, LPC, CADC II. I work with adults and couples. I believe that each person can find and create their own path. Life is a journey, and how one chooses to respond to life is what one gets back. But don't worry if how you respond to life is not benefiting you; I can help you deconstruct your old ways of thinking.
My approach
I practice an integrative therapeutic style using CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Person-Centered approaches to therapy. I have an adaptive style in order to best serve the needs of clients.
My focus
I have extensive experience working with adults dealing with past trauma, transition/adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, substance abuse, and other life challenges.
My communication style
I create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to experiment with change. I work with clients to challenge old and unhealthy habits and beliefs and provide compassionate support along the way.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building rapport and getting acclimated with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about what led you to seek therapy and how you would like this path to go. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first and then collaborate with you to gain a sense of direction that will work best for you moving forward.
