Hi there, I'm Stella D.!

I am a Clinical Psychologist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I'm currently licensed in the State of Georgia (Lic. PSY004432) and as a Telehealth Psychologist in the State of Florida (TPPY2137). I offer services to English and Spanish speakers. I have extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to adults (18+). I also have experience and training in multiple approaches to treating negative, traumatic, stressful, and challenging experiences.

My approach

I mainly provide support with an integrative approach by tailoring interventions to each participant's needs. Some of the treatment approaches that I also practice include, but are not limited to ACT, CBT, Humanistic, Person-Centered, Narrative, Behavioral Modification, Solution Focus, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma focus.

My focus

My main focus is to work with folks who have experienced trauma and/or PTSD, dissociative disorders, and related disorders. On the other hand, I have worked with plenty of people with other life stressors and situations like dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, and others. I feel comfortable working with anyone, since I believe anybody could benefit from learning more about themselves in order to become the best versions of themselves. However, in order to do that, that person has to be willing, committed, and interested in starting the healing process. If they are not ready, then it could be challenging for them to let go of habits that they need to work on.

My communication style

I do my best to be curious and explore each participant's needs with compassionate care and active listening.

My journey to mental healthcare

During my years of training and practice, I realized that many mental health issues are rooted in past negative or traumatic experiences. The symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, and others can be the tip of the iceberg. This is why I decided to specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, dissociative disorders, dual diagnoses, and other related issues.

My goals for you

My main goal for participants is for them to overcome challenges and reach their own personal and therapeutic goals and increase their engagement in healthy coping skills.

My first session with you

In the first session, we discuss the limits of confidentiality and gather family background information, medical history, and other related information about the current concerns that the participant has.
