Welcome! If you're new to therapy or have tried therapy in the past and are looking for a holistic and solutions-based approach, I can help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor and I have experience working with clients from all walks of life with varying concerns. Please email me at natalie@wakeleycounseling.com to find out more information and to get started.
My approach
DBT, CBT, Psychoanalysis and Internal Family Systems are the modalities I use the most. In addition, I use a somatic and holistic approach with each client. A somatic approach is a focus on not just your thoughts but also your body and nervous system. A holistic approach means looking at the total picture of your life.
My focus
My specializations include treating Trauma, PTSD, BPD, Bipolar Disorder, Anger, Depression, Anxiety, family conflict, life transitions and co-dependency. I offer both individual and family therapy.
My communication style
When you begin working with me, we will determine what success in therapy looks like for you and develop a space for you to feel comfortable to tell your story. As you begin your journey, we always leave room for unexpected new realizations and goals that may emerge through the process. Sessions are casual and relaxed yet focused and goal-oriented. Please email me at natalie@wakeleycounseling.com to find out more information and to get started.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to becoming a therapist started with my own need for healing. I knew that I needed to take my individual power back from childhood trauma as an adult and did not know how. I began my healing journey and learned a lot along the way about what works, and what doesn't work, in a therapeutic setting. I decided that I wanted to share that and help others find freedom and healing to ultimately help make the world a more loving, free, and brighter place.
My goals for you
When you begin working with me, we will determine what success looks like for you. As you begin your journey, we always leave room for unexpected new realizations and goals that may emerge through the process. Sessions are casual and relaxed yet focused and goal-oriented. Typically, in our first session, I will take time to get to know you and your therapy goals. We will work to develop a treatment plan in the next few sessions that work for your individual needs. My intention is for you to walk away feeling empowered and clear about your path as you continue to work with me. I would like you to see a reduction in symptoms causing you distress and take steps to resolve issues that have been holding you back from living the life that you want and deserve.
My first session with you
Typically, in our first session, I will take time to get to know you and understand your therapy goals. In the next few sessions, we will work to develop a treatment plan that incorporates these goals. If you are not sure what your goals are and you just want to feel better, that's a perfect place to start!
