Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Tammy!

Well hello there! I'm Tammy, and it's so good to meet you! I’m a dedicated, fully licensed, and board-certified professional counselor who’s passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to wellness. I use "talk therapies" to provide therapeutic support, guidance, clinical insight/education, and advocacy for those I serve.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is Person-Centered (Rogerian); However, I enjoy integrating creative means to assist in helping individuals reach their treatment goals. This includes the use of movies, books, and expressive arts as educational tools and a means to further explore aspects of our lives without the discomfort of directly talking about the experience(s) if those memories are too sensitive to explore in the very beginning.

My focus

I specialize in treating individuals impacted by ADHD, trauma, depression and/or anxiety. Currently, I am able to provide Telehealth therapeutic interventions, including counseling/therapy, diagnostic tests and measures, and behavioral health assessments.

My communication style

One of the most inspiring messages I received at the beginning of my career was this: Good therapy doesn’t look like therapy at all but like a very good conversation. Some may disagree with this, but I’ve found that building a therapeutic alliance is essential in helping guide others toward the outcomes they so desire. So let’s have that very good conversation. You’re on a path toward healing, and I’d very much enjoy accompanying you on what may seem like a long, scary, and lonely road.

My journey to mental healthcare

Helping others feel comfortable and confident in being themselves, and loving who they truly are is my superpower! Listening and being attuned to the needs of others comes naturally and I feel that I was destined to serve in this capacity. Working with and learning from those I serve has truly been a rewarding experience. Your mental health journey is unique, and I'm here to provide the compassionate expertise you deserve. Let's work together towards your goals for a healthier mind and a brighter future.

My goals for you

I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step toward seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

My first session with you

The initial visit involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic measures to evaluate overall health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options. This may sound scary, but I assure you, others find this initial meeting to be very therapeutic and tend to feel a lot more relaxed and confident by the time we conclude the session. My goal is to minimize some of that anxious distress that we tend to have in the very beginning. Sessions generally last between 50-60 minutes.
