Hello, my name is Keisha Johnson, LPC, CPCS, in the state of Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, and her Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. She also has more recently earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Keller University. She has experience working with Emotionally Behavior-Disordered children and dual diagnosis in her own agency for over 10 years. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children providing individual, group, and family counseling for psychiatric and dual-diagnosis individuals.
My approach
As a counselor, she believes individuals need hope and to be empowered in order to begin the change process. Her goal in counseling is to help clients discover their individual strengths, identify and cancel out their dysfunctional thought processes, and replace them with positive and realistic thinking. Keisha believes many problems arise from poor communication patterns that have been learned in the home through the years. In order to bring healing and hope to individuals, these patterns have to be modified or replaced. Keisha utilizes concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy to help clients in the change process.
My focus
I typically work with clients dealing with PTSD, Trauma, Adolescent Issues, Parenting, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Dual diagnosis, Panic Attacks, and Mentoring.
My communication style
I like to have an open, relaxing, and comfortable environment for a client to feel free to express themselves free of judgment or feeling ashamed. I like to create a relatable feeling that clients understand they are not alone in this fight to improve their lives and everyone has struggles.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been the one that people could talk to and the dependable one. I have always wanted to help and "fix" people and situations or always try to.

My approach to goal setting is listening, understanding, and guiding clients to understand what their desired outcome is for seeking counseling.
My first session with you
During our initial sessions, we begin the assessment process, getting to know each and what the client's goals/needs are for therapy. This is where expectations are discussed, and I understand how I can help.
