Hello. My name is Connie Moore. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I am a Christian Counselor. I believe that Christ is the great counselor guiding the change process within my therapy sessions.
My approach
I utilize CBT techniques to unlearn any irrational ideas you may have about yourself and the world. Piaget's stages of cognitive development and Motivational Interviewing techniques guide the process of positive change & growth often missed from difficult or traumatic childhood experiences.
My focus
My experiences have given me a wide knowledge base for the treatment of mental illness from children to the elderly. I am most comfortable working with adult women or men with depression, anxiety, or anger as a result of past trauma or loss in their life.
My communication style
I attempt to provide a loving environment where you can consider your own path towards a renewal of your mind taking your negative thoughts captive. Open and honest sessions allow us to partner to support recovery from layers of protective walls that no longer serve you well.
My journey to mental healthcare
My therapist journey began with my own search for a better quality of life for my kids and myself. In my journey for recovery from my own childhood trauma, I found that my recovery experiences provide the empathy that can help others with hope and healing.
My goals for you
Setting goals gives us a guide to our path in your recovery from specific symptoms. Most important is improving your functioning in areas of your life that allow a better quality of life in your connection with God, your relationships, and your stages of life.
My first session with you
Our first few therapy sessions will allow you to tell your story and therefore give validation to your needs. Your growth is in that story. Processing strong emotions and events gives us clues to core issues blocking your recovery.
