Hello, I'm David Manuel Ed.S LPC, NCC. I have facilitated therapy with clients for almost 4 years. My approach to therapy is eclectic. I have extended experience working in mental health, including various clinics, hospitals, and virtual settings. My clients are aged 5 yr- 64 yr. I see clients for Depression, Anxiety, Career Counseling, Anger, Grief, Men Issues, Women's Issues, and Stress.
My approach
The therapeutic approach used is mostly eclectic. However, more broadly speaking, I am more Person-Centered and CBT. I strive to provide clients with therapy that provides beneficial and meaningful content that they feel promotes a more calming and stress-free lifestyle. When the need arises to utilize a different approach, I am very flexible and understand the client's needs.
My focus
Working with clients ages 5 yrs to 64 yrs allows me to work with clients with various conditions, including depression, anxiety, stress, career questioning, grief, loss, school issues, peer-related adjustment, men's issues, and women's issues.
My communication style
Clients are my focus. The therapy session is for the benefit of the client. I have a combination of mostly listening, rephrasing to understand and clarify, and providing feedback to further discuss or help visualize a different perspective.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist out of my willingness to do more for the profession, clients, and the community I am a part of. I've always worked in human services, and providing guidance to others has been a natural knack for me. I enjoy seeing others feel better about the things in life that we can and can't change. I became intrigued with the behaviors of others and understood that everyone's individual experience could have lasting effects on how they are able to relate, perform and matriculate through life. My drive is also fueled by the desire to continue to influence the generation of individuals that will provide care to my children in the future, this is why I became a therapist, and I love what I do.
My goals for you
Clients set their own goals at the conclusion of the intake assessment/appointment. Clients are assessed to determine if they are meeting their goal and determine the next steps of setting new goals or providing maintenance for the accomplished goal met.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients can expect a warm welcome. The first session usually gives clients the perspective they need to understand how well we will work together. Clients can expect questions and discussions to help me understand their specific needs.
