Hi, I'm Kim. As a therapist, I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults. I have experience in various levels of care, from outpatient to partial hospitalization programs to inpatient settings.
My approach
I primarily use the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) model in my work. I believe in meeting clients where they are in life, as we all have our own unique thoughts, strengths, and weaknesses. This person-centered approach is key to helping my clients achieve success.
My focus
With experience in working with all levels of care, it has allowed me to work with a variety of different populations. I have the most experience serving adolescents and young adults. I've also worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds in crisis management.
My communication style
My communication style is warm and empathetic. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. At the same time, I believe in being direct and solution-focused to help clients make meaningful progress.
My journey to mental healthcare
While earning my Masters in Professional Counseling, I received my internship hours working with all populations in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program at a mental health hospital. After receiving my Master's in Professional Counseling, I earned my clinical hours for licensure working with all populations in an emergency room setting as well as those receiving treatment in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Since licensure, I have remained in these diverse settings and it has allowed me to provide care to people at all levels of need.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the coping skills and self-awareness needed to manage issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, and relationship conflicts. I aim to help you build resilience, improve self-esteem, and create positive changes that last.
My first session with you
In our first session, we'll focus on building rapport and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll listen closely to understand your unique situation, challenges, and goals. Together, we'll start developing a personalized treatment plan to help you move forward. You can expect a supportive, collaborative environment where your voice is valued.
