Hello! I'm Tera Campbell, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with 10 years of professional experience.
My approach
My most common therapeutic approaches focus on solution-based and behavioral therapy. My therapeutic style concentrates on helping my clients move toward their desired future, making goals, and setting expectations. I also use behavioral therapy and self-management techniques.
My focus
I specialize in children and adults with maladaptive behaviors and disabilities. I have 26 years of experience with military life and understand the struggles with deployments, change in family dynamics, and transitions in roles. I have experience helping clients with relationship concerns, family conflicts, and parenting issues. I work with couples to repair trust and improve and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. I have experience with the discrimination and barriers with the LGBTQ+ communities. changes
My communication style
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I'll ask questions to gain insight into the presenting problems and understand who you are as an individual and family.
My journey to mental healthcare
I love helping people! It's very rewarding to see positive results and to watch my clients successfully overcome challenges and improve their lives. I'd love to help with coping skills, self-care techniques, and alternative ways to help you live a healthier life.
My goals for you
I use active listening, self-management, behavioral therapy, and solution-focused techniques, and I am always learning about other evidence-based practices. The Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach focuses on the client's hoped-for future instead of their ongoing problem. In subsequent sessions, I involve goal-setting, interventions, behavior contracts, self-management tools, and homework.
My first session with you
I often use Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Based Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. I believe you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges.
