Hello, I'm Jordan Joachim, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida who's excited to see how my experience can help you. Family history and personal growth encouraged me to become a counselor and help others obtain their goals through counseling as well. My goal is to restore you to where you want to be and then empower you to places you thought you'd never achieve.
My approach
I enjoy walking alongside my clients on their journey. Person-centered therapy allows me to remove myself from being an advice giver and in return, become a guide who walks with you as we observe your revelations of self-discovery. We behave and react based on what we believe. Through CBT, we are able to adjust our beliefs from being harmful to empowering. Many times people may have already worked through a deep trauma or are not in a place to explore it. Solution Focused Therapy allows us to focus on the present and immediate need to make life more enjoyable. Faith is a powerful tool that allows us to push through times of doubt, pain, and confusion. Through Christian, and Faith-Based Counseling, we are able to use this tool to help you accomplish your goals. I have a big heart for couples counseling. I enjoy helping couples learn about themselves, their relationship, and sculpt their futures together.
My focus
While my foundation started working with clients dealing with substance abuse, I quickly learned that this entailed many other areas of mental health. I also enjoy working with family systems, couples, youths, and those struggling with mental health systems.
My communication style
I work to maintain an atmosphere of peace to allow my clients to be able to grasp what is being worked on throughout the session without distraction. I utilize positive psychology and encouraging phrases to motivate clients in taking the steps to accomplishing their goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
A family history of addiction and domestic violence created in me a heart for others suffering. Overcoming my own mental health struggles created in me a desire to help others do the same.
My goals for you
Goal setting is collaboration that requires the client and therapist to first understand who the client is and what is obtainable.
My first session with you
During our first session, I'll introduce myself and create a comfortable atmosphere for us to begin. The hardest part is already over with, getting help. Now I'll take some time to understand who you are, what has happened, and who you'd like to become. We'll work together to accomplish these goals and learn what works the best for you.
