Hi there, I'm Nathasha!

Hello, I'm Nathasha Christopher-Henry, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in mental health therapy for individuals from children to the senior population. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand and change thought patterns, making it easier to feel better emotionally. I'm excited to support you on your journey to better mental health.

My approach

My approach to providing therapy is centered around creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be impacting their mental health. Additionally, I incorporate elements of other evidence-based practices, such as mindfulness and solution-focused therapy, to tailor my approach to each individual’s unique needs. My goal is to empower clients with practical tools and strategies to navigate life's challenges and achieve their personal goals.

My focus

I typically work with a diverse range of clients, from children to the elderly, addressing various mental health concerns. I am most comfortable treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. I also have experience working with clients facing life transitions, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

My communication style

In my sessions, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe and comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. My approach is compassionate and empathetic, and I aim to make clients feel understood and supported. Working with me feels like having a trusted ally who listens deeply, offers practical guidance, and empowers you to make positive changes in your life.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep-seated passion for helping others and a fascination with understanding human behavior. I was drawn to social work because of its holistic approach to supporting individuals within their unique contexts. Throughout my education and early career experiences, I found that I was particularly moved by the resilience and strength people showed in the face of adversity. This inspired me to specialize in mental health therapy, where I could make a direct impact on individuals' lives. What drives me to do this work is the profound fulfillment I get from witnessing my clients' growth and progress. Seeing someone transform their life by overcoming challenges and achieving their goals is incredibly rewarding. I am motivated by the belief that everyone has the capacity for change and the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Being a part of that journey is both an honor and a privilege.

My goals for you

When setting goals with clients, I take a collaborative approach. We start by discussing what they hope to achieve through therapy and identifying specific areas they want to focus on. Together, we break down these goals into manageable, realistic steps. I encourage clients to set SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—to ensure they are clear and attainable. Throughout the process, I provide support and guidance, helping clients track their progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on track.

My first session with you

During the first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming introduction to the therapeutic process. We'll start by discussing their reasons for seeking therapy and what they hope to achieve. I’ll ask some questions about their background, current situation, and any specific concerns they have. This initial session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions and get a sense of how we can work together. The goal is to build a comfortable, trusting relationship and lay the foundation for our work going forward.
