Hi, my name is Valarese Dailey, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. (It is pronounced Val-uh-Reese). I help adolescents identify triggers that cause them distress at home, school, or in the community. Once identified, I work closely with them to develop effective coping skills and utilize them in real-life scenarios.
My approach
My therapeutic approach varies based on the individual needs of the client. I have experience using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), solution-focused techniques, person-centered therapy, and a plethora of other supportive methods. I also provide psychoeducation to the client and family. Psychoeducation is important because it involves learning and understanding mental health and well-being.
My focus
I have more than 10 years of experience working with adolescents who experience anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, stress, behavioral disorders, mood disorders, low self-esteem, and navigating peer relationships.
My communication style
I take the time to build a positive rapport with the clients I serve. This process is very important in building a therapeutic relationship. I do this by engaging my clients in conversations about their interests, likes, and dislikes. I like to incorporate a client's interests into their treatment if possible, so they know they are an active participant during the treatment process.
