Hi there, I'm Eva!

Hello, thank you so much for considering me to join you on your journey towards choosing yourself first. I am honored to be your therapist. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I speak English and Spanish fluently and have a culturally sensitive approach to counseling. I specialize in relationships and understanding underlying patterns unseen in daily interactions. I work with couples, children, and parents in discovering new tools to manage current demands and stressors and help my clients live their potential and best self. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Central University of Venezuela (Universidad Central de Venezuela), where I graduated with honors, and received my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU).

My approach

My style is open-ended, creative and inclusive. I utilize play, art, and other creative means to help my clients. I have a therapeutic as well as a psychoeducational approach to therapy, where I use evidence-based techniques to help you achieve your goals and help you gain awareness of the root of your emotions and behaviors. My strong background in humanistic and holistic therapy allows me to see each client as unique as their own circumstances, where there are no universal answers. Even though I have intensive training in Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative therapy, I utilize a dialectic approach where I integrate in an eclectic manner other postmodern systemic modalities

My focus

I work with a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, kids, teens, and families. My favorite clients are those who are motivated and willing to do their work. I just meet you where you are.

My communication style

My style is direct and structured. I believe in being compassionate yet realistic. Change doesn't happen overnight but I am here to help you see where are the issues that need work.

My journey to mental healthcare

I love to help! I chose this career because I believe in the human nature to self-actualize and improve, I believe in humanity and I love being part of each client's process into their well-being and personal growth.

My goals for you

This is a collaborative process from start to end. At the end of the initial session, we set together the goals and the length of treatment, and is a continued process of assessing and reassessing what is working and what is not. My goal is to help you reach your goal, in a way that you can perceive it.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will introduce ourselves and will go over the specific circumstances you are facing. In a "get to know me" type of situation we will explore contextual, interpersonal, and internal variables. We then will tailor a treatment plan according to the goals we wish to accomplish during our time together.
