My name is Jill Gray and I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional with 15 years of experience. My approach is person-centered and supportive of the individual needs of each client. My focus is on the person as a whole, mentally, physically, emotionally, and relationally.
My approach
I am passionate about trauma-informed care. I am relationship-based and solution-focused. I believe in mindfulness and intention-based approaches and teaching skills that interest each individual's personalized care. I am EMDR certified, and trained in addiction therapy and emotionally focused/family therapy.
My focus
I always want to meet each client where they are at. We will spend a lot of time together building a solid rapport. I work with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, self-exploration, and challenging perceptions.
My communication style
I like to create a soothing and open environment for clients to feel safe and comfortable to be vulnerable. Therapy can be full of new experiences and unknowns and I want to build the tone for growth.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always loved to talk to people. I enjoy learning more about each person’s brain and what makes them tick. I love to ask questions and explore certain areas while also learning more about their culture, family dynamics, and experiences that make them who they are. If I had to pick one word that describes my therapy journey and what I like to facilitate with others is authenticity.
My goals for you
Goal setting is one of my favorite aspects of therapy. We collaborate together on what the needs of the individual are. I like to use SMART goals in order to measure progress and accountability. Goals get modified through the process and it is beneficial to have a road map for what we would like to achieve together.
My first session with you
Clients should expect to feel safe, comfortable, and educated. I like to foster transparency and an open forum to ask questions, build a solid rapport, and have a thorough history taking. I want clients to feel heard, supported, validated, and cared for.
