If you feel alone and are unsure where to start, I am here to support you and help you figure out where you want to go on your life's journey. I believe that the foundation of the therapeutic relationship begins with trust, acceptance, and honesty. Once you and I have a strong foundation, we will explore the goals you have and what you want your future to look like.
My approach
I understand that each individual has unique life experiences that influence how they function daily and how they view the world around them. Your story and life experiences are of the utmost importance. In pursuit of developing a strong therapeutic foundation, I utilize modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am happy to provide more information on any of these approaches.
My focus
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with addiction, alcohol use, anxiety, borderline personality, coping skills, depression, drug abuse, dual diagnosis, emotional disturbance, grief, relapse prevention, women's issues, and eating disorders. I aim to provide a supportive space for you to process your unique challenges and work towards positive change.
My communication style
I believe in open, honest communication and building trust within the therapeutic relationship. I will listen to your story with empathy and without judgment. Together, we will explore your goals and what you envision for your future. I am here to support you as you undertake your therapeutic journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
My path to mental healthcare began with pursuing my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, which I completed in 2014 at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Motivated to further my education and training, I continued to obtain my Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Nova Southeastern in 2019 after completing my pre-doctoral residency in Leavenworth, Kansas. I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) since 2017 and previously ran my own private practice in Hollywood, Florida before transitioning to providing therapy via telehealth.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you get back on the path to living your best life. Whether you are struggling with sadness, worry, relationship issues, or feeling lost, I aim to provide the support and guidance you need to rediscover what is most important to you. Together, we will work to help you develop coping skills, gain new insights, and make positive changes to enhance your overall well-being.
My first session with you
I understand starting therapy can be anxiety-provoking. In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and beginning to build the trust and rapport essential for a strong therapeutic relationship. I will listen to your story, discuss what brings you to therapy, and collaboratively establish goals to guide our work together. Remember, your difficulties did not develop overnight, and they won't disappear overnight either. Therapy is a process, and I will be here to support you every step of the way.
