My name is Beatriz Norona. I’m a licensed mental health therapist, with close to 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. The majority of my work has been in the area of trauma, mood disorders, family therapy, and working with adolescents.
My approach
I feel comfortable working with solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, family systems, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
My focus
I have worked with various clients from geriatrics to children, and across many different settings. I've worked in an inpatient unit, community mental health centers, and with telehealth clients. I excel in working with clients facing mood disorders, grief, or trauma.
My communication style
I like to keep my environment inviting which allows the client to feel comfortable.
My journey to mental healthcare
I like to say that I stumbled onto the field of psychology by accident. I was a nursing major, and my roommate in college invited me to her Psychology 101 class. I quickly fell in love with the concepts, and how fascinating the mind is and the rest was history.
My goals for you
During the first session, I like to have an idea of the client's goals for therapy. Then together we create short and long-term goals for a successful therapy journey.
