Hello! I am Stephen Lamberjack, Clinical Mental Health Counselor LMHC (MH 24119) I am a general practitioner with an eclectic approach that matches with my client's needs and goals. I am based in Florida and provide Telehealth Services state-wide.
My approach
My treatment modalities include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, Psychoanalytic, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused. I work to meet my clients where they are at in life. I tailor treatment to their specific wants and needs, working towards whatever emotional/ psychological release they need in order to move forward in life as the best version of themselves.
My focus
As a general practitioner, I have worked with children as young as 5 years of age to geriatrics. I have worked with patients who have struggled with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, chronic illness, terminal illness, life transition, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behavior, sexual identity, major psychological disorders, eating disorders, and much more.
My communication style
The patient-provider relationship is unique in that it is different from a family member or friend giving advice on what they think you should be doing in your situation, which can make things confusing. The patient is provided a safe, calm, accommodating, and personable environment to work through whatever might be going on in their lives free of judgment. It is not the therapist's place to give advice, advice giving is not therapy - but a unique environment for you to be given a sounding board to work through your struggles, the therapist being a guide, along with you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a second-generation Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have dedicated myself to the service of helping others through specific job opportunities tailored to advance my knowledge/skills as a practitioner. I feel a good practitioner is one whose learning is never done.
My goals for you
Collaboration between patient and therapist. Goal setting is measurable and obtainable through subjective and objective measures.
My first session with you
Our first session is exploratory in nature for both patient and provider, to see if we are a good match. You will be able to tell me what's been going on and an extensive biopsychosocial Assessment is conducted which assesses for biological, psychological, and social factors that can be contributing to a problem or problems you might be experiencing. Once all the information is collected a provisional diagnosis is rendered. If you believe I can help you and I feel I can benefit you then we can move forward, if either of us feels otherwise, I will recommend another practitioner.
