I am Eleanor Stith-Merrill, LMHC, and I am a client-centered therapist who utilizes a variety of modalities to address mood disorders, trauma, and interpersonal relationship issues.
My approach
I utilize a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Insight Oriented, Mindfulness, and EMDR. For the past 10 years, I have worked and gained advanced training specializing in mood disorders and complex trauma, working with both adults and children while keeping careful consideration of cultural concerns and practices.
My focus
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples and have advanced training in anxiety and trauma.
My communication style
I am genuine and open-minded. I build rapport quickly and provide a safe space for clients to share and grow.
My journey to mental healthcare
I chose this particular career after having a counselor when I was in the 5th grade. I enjoy helping others and supporting them on their journey through life.
My goals for you
My work focuses on targeting ineffective behaviors, habits, and beliefs, in a collaborative approach to helping my clients reach their goals and enhance their functioning. I see each client as the true “expert” in their own life and I see my role as a guide to a more fulfilling life, together.
My first session with you
In the first session, I will share my expertise and get an understanding of the concern. I generally include a small homework assignment in order to provide relief.
