Hi, my name is Elizabeth Lewerke and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have been practicing for 10 years with a holistic approach, focusing on trauma, relationships, and patterns. I help people gain clarity, process past and current trauma, change unhealthy thought patterns and overall lead a more healthy, productive life.
My approach
I have a holistic approach to therapy, looking at all areas of life, habits, and livelihood. Accelerated Resolution Therapy, CBT, and Neuropsychotherapy are my most commonly used theoretical approaches.
My focus
I often work with people who realize stressors and past trauma have been ignored and need to be addressed and processed in order to move forward, have healthy relationships, and lead a productive, happy life. I enjoy working with people who are open to new ideas and perspectives.
My communication style
I aim to create a feeling of safety, trust, and comfort where my clients can express themselves, their opinions, fears, anger, and regrets free from judgment. I also provide encouragement, hope, and often solutions to quash feelings of hopelessness and uncertainty. My goal is that my client(s) will leave feeling better/more optimistic than they felt when they came in.
My journey to mental healthcare
I believe growing up in a turbulent household and my own experiences in relationships, working with challenging people and the intense challenges of parenting are what have driven me to work in the field of counseling. I have a myriad of life experiences and relate to a diverse group of people and circumstances.
My goals for you
I work with my clients to help them gain clarity on what is important to them- aligning future goals with beliefs and values in work, relationships, and personal growth. I help clients identify what goals to set to help them move closer to what their ultimate goal(s) may be, and if they don't know what that is, we will find that together.
My first session with you
In our first session, I like to get some background information on family and life experience, what brought you to therapy, and what you are finding challenging in your life now. I may ask some questions to gain better insight but I will move at a pace that is comfortable for you.
