Hi there, I'm Sophia!

My name is Dr. Sophia Sills-Tailor. I am proud to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to fostering growth, healing, and empowerment in individuals from all walks of life. My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity for growth and self-understanding. As a person-centered therapist, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and respected. I recognize that each person's journey is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual I work with.

My approach

My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity for growth and self-understanding. Drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities and techniques, my practice is truly eclectic. I believe in the importance of integrating various approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based therapies, to best support my clients on their path towards healing and personal growth.

My focus

I recognize that each person's journey is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual I work with. Whether addressing issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, or life transitions, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers individuals to navigate life's challenges with resilience and strength.

My communication style

As a person-centered therapist, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and respected. I recognize that each person's journey is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual I work with.

My journey to mental healthcare

In my personal life and throughout my career, I have had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of therapy in the lives of countless individuals and families... Yes, I go to therapy too! My goal is not only to help clients overcome immediate struggles but also to equip them with the tools and insights they need to thrive in the long term. I am deeply passionate about my work as a counselor and consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients as they embark on their journey towards greater self-awareness, healing, and fulfillment.

My first session with you

Overall, the first therapy session is an opportunity for you and I to get to know each other, establish rapport, and begin the process of exploring and addressing your concerns. There will be a discussion on confidentiality and boundaries, assessment and goal setting, exploration of expectation and preferences, discussion of logistics and collaborative planning.
