Willetta Wilson has been on the mission of "helping professionals" for several years. Educated, trained, and licensed as a licensed professional counselor (LPC), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), master addiction counselor (MAC), and board-certified telehealth therapist (BC-TMH), she is highly regarded in her field. She has a unique background in effective communication, leadership, counselor development, and strategic planning which provides her clients unique advantages. Willetta's clinical philosophy is that each person has their story that shaped what they are currently experiencing. Through her approach she strives to foster a safe, relational space where clients may tell their story, gain insights on the impact it is having, and assist them in creating a new healthier reality that is more fulfilling.
My approach
Willetta's theoretical approach is what is best for the client. She prefers short-term solution-focused therapy as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
My focus
Willetta has worked with many clients, and her preferred for this platform are adults, individuals not couples desiring to address tools to assist with workplace concerns, communication, mild anxiety, and mild depression who are looking for strategies to add value to their lives and relationships.
My communication style
She has been told she brings an energy of enthusiasm, working with those individuals who wish to put in the work for desired change. As a good CBT-trained therapist, she gives homework that assists in learning new/changed behaviors and beliefs. She is action-oriented, so she teaches, supports, and holds. She has a great many tools in her wheelhouse.
My goals for you
The first session for her is what the individual wants from this experience. What are they open to addressing using the "present-focused, and strength-based." The focus is to address what they can change utilizing "wise-mind" techniques of DBT and how to calm that "AMY"?
My first session with you
Assessment which entails a collection of data. This will include a brief background of what brings you to therapy, safety concerns, prior therapy experiences, what is the goal?
