I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have over 17 years of experience working in a variety of settings that include group programs, therapeutic foster care, residential programming, crisis management, therapeutic schooling, and private practice. My experience focuses on developing prosocial behavior, identifying adaptive coping skills, utilizing feeling identification, and implementing stress/anger management techniques. While working with clients, I take a collaborative approach that builds on strengths to help move toward goals and alleviate stress/strong negative emotions.
My approach
I take an eclectic strength-based approach that utilizes techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
My focus

My communication style focuses on building a genuine connection and identifying strengths.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been interested in "people's stories." This means being open to learning about a person's unique experiences. I am a genuinely curious person and have a desire to help people develop by working toward their strengths. Being a therapist gives me the perfect opportunity to put this into action!
