My name is Catherine Pither, I have a master's degree in counseling and I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut. My focus is on assisting clients in overcoming the effects of traumatic life experiences.
My approach
I have both personal and professional experience with grief and emotional trauma recovery. My approach is emotionally focused and goal oriented, in order to assist clients in making real progress.
My focus
I mainly work with clients who are overcoming the effects of traumatic experiences or loss. These effects may include symptoms of anxiety, depression or unresolved grief.
My communication style
As a counselor my goal is to provide a supportive environment where my clients feel safe and comfortable enough to explore their emotions and the impact of their experiences.
My journey to mental healthcare
My interest in psychology began as a personal journey to better understand myself, and overcome the effects of my own traumatic experiences. My motivation as a counselor is to assist others in processing the emotions they have left over from difficult life experiences, so that they are able to be free to find greater purpose and meaning in their lives.
My goals for you
Together we will explore your motivation for seeking counseling and determine what changes you might like to make in order to feel more satisfied and fulfilled in your life.
My first session with you
In your first session, we will explore your history, to create a picture of the experiences and emotions that have led you to this point in your life’s path.
