My name is Helene Morneau and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My therapeutic approach is to ensure clients feel heard, valued, and understood. Providing support and a sounding board for clients so that they can achieve their goals and live their best lives.
My approach
While we will utilize a variety of techniques and strategies and an eclectic approach to change, the most common theoretical frameworks we will use are from Dr. Albert Ellis: Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Dr. William Glasser: Choice Theory, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) developed by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg.
My focus
My client focus is on growth and development for the purpose of meeting individual needs and achieving self-actualization.
My communication style
Choosing me as your therapist means embarking on a journey toward creating your best life. In our sessions, my goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and validated. Together, we will navigate through your depression, anxiety, and grief, transforming these challenges into stepping stones toward a meaningful existence. Through practical strategies and compassionate guidance, we'll identify and dismantle the obstacles holding you back. Our collaborative efforts will build your confidence, empowering you to achieve your goals and attain emotional well-being through effective, short-term therapy with long-lasting results.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to become a therapist includes having been the client and patient. I have been in your seat and come with a wealth of experience of the mental health field.
My goals for you
In our work together, we will: Identify and challenge self-defeating thoughts and feelings, replace irrational and unproductive beliefs with healthier, more productive ones, recognize how to achieve personal freedom by focusing on what you can control, deepen your relationships, set healthy boundaries, and improve communication skills.
My first session with you
Our first session will be getting to know each other and determining goals for treatment.
