Hello! My name is Caroline Clark, I am a licensed clinical social worker and I provide therapy to individuals suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety and ADHD. I use EMDR, CBT, strengths building and other proven interventions to help people heal from past trauma or current mental health issues. Together we can work on reducing symptoms and helping you live the life you want!
My approach
I utilize a client-centered approach, meaning I want to work on what you want and help you build tools to manage the things that are affecting you the most. I am trained in many modalities to include EMDR, CBT, CPT, DBT and many different trauma focused therapies. I want to help you be the leader of your life and build those tools to help you do so!
My focus
I work primarily with those who have suffered trauma or suffer from depression and anxiety. I also have experience working with ADHD. I work primarily with individuals who are 18-65 but have experience with children and adolescents. I work from a home office and only work via telehealth but have found that doing therapy from the comfort of your own home or the convenience of your phone can help make therapy easier to bare.
My communication style
I like to create a very open and honest environment, that is judgement free. I have a semi-direct style but it's not necessarily confrontational rather than me wanting to be clear in what I say and represent my genuine self. Hopefully it feels like talking with a friend or confidante as I want you to be able to be true to yourself as well when we meet.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a helper by nature. I love to help people and use my knowledge and skills to help them become the best version of themselves. I have studied psychology and human behavior since high school and recognized it just clicked with me and how I thought of the world. Ever since then I have been on a journey that has led me to become a therapist.
My goals for you
I like to let client's take the lead in goal setting, as I believe you know yourself better than anyone. I will offer suggestions based on what you need help with and together we will come up with goals to fit your needs.
My first session with you
In our first session, I will let you know more about me and address any questions you have about me or the therapy process. We will mainly focus on you and what brought you here. We may take assessments based on need and then come up with goals and some first steps towards those goals.
