My name is Alberto Fernandez. I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with over 10 years of clinical experience. I take an integrative approach that incorporates elements of depth psychology, mindfulness and cognitive therapies. My practice centers on working with individuals navigating life transitions, trauma, and existential challenges, empowering them to transform feelings of being stuck into opportunities for greater understanding, acceptance, and psychological integration.
My approach
I use an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic models tailored to your needs while maintaining a direct, clinically rigorous method. Many of us have blind spots in our self-awareness and perspectives, leading to feelings of being stuck or dissatisfied. A significant part of treatment involves helping clients explore and understand these underlying patterns, making the unconscious conscious. Many of our behaviors and pattens in adulthood are driven by "old biases" from early life that still influence how we respond to others and the world. In sessions, I assist clients in connecting with and releasing these burdens, leading to a more integrated and empowered relationship with themselves and their lives.
My focus
I work with men and women of all ages. Some clients come to me due to a specific life situation or change that has brought conflict and emotional pain. For others, there isn't a clear event they can point to, but rather a general feeling of being "stuck" in patterns or a sense of dissatisfaction that creates unease in their lives and relationships. This often manifests as symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, or avoidance. Regardless of how these challenges present, I help clients focus on the underlying roots of their mental states, guiding them to bring these to the surface with care and curiosity, allowing for the integration and healing of unresolved negativity.

My communication style is clear and direct. My focus is to create a safe environment for exploration and compassionate inquiry that helps my clients begin to confront existential questions, unresolved issues from the past, and the challenges of shifting from external achievements to inner development.
