My name is Bobbie Griffin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado who is working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with individuals who range in the ages of adolescents through adulthood to help them achieve their therapeutic goals using a holistic approach. When I am not practicing therapy, I am spending time gardening and being outside, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.
My approach
My therapeutic approaches vary due to the individual needs of my client. I use a holistic approach when working with my client as well as I most often use motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based Perspective, mindfulness. I also have experience with Christian Counseling.
My focus
My experience spans with working with diverse individuals from the ages of adolescents through adulthood. I have experience working with those who have experienced sexual trauma, child abuse, developmental disabilities, peer relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, and life transitions.
My communication style
I actively listen to my client, engage honestly, and share information with my clients. When needed I adjust my communication style to assist my clients with developmental disabilities. I assign homework to help my client practice skills to aid in them in the healing process.
My journey to mental healthcare
Over the years I have worked with disabled adults in various setting, the elderly, children and families in the child welfare system, adolescents in the school system, and actively participated in supporting others and helping with outreaches through church. I decided to become a therapist because I find it rewarding to help others achieve their life goals and overcome barriers to them having a life worth living.
My goals for you
I meet with my client to listen and discuss their identified needs to help develop treatment goals that we will work on together. During sessions we will discuss progress toward achieving their goals.
My first session with you
During the first session we will start building our therapeutic rapport to help build trust, connections and comfort. I will listen to what my client wants to share and answer questions that they may have. At the end of sessions, we will summarize the session and review homework for my client to work on until the next session. I will invite feedback from my client in session.
