I am a Licensed Therapist that has been working with children and young adults with ages 5-25 years. I have been enjoying my line of work for almost 20 years. I work in a school during the school year and have lots of experience to help children and parents in school as well.
My approach
I use many different therapeutic approaches. I will use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-centered therapy and some behavioral therapy.
My focus
I work with children and young adults in a telehealth setting. Due to the telehealth and the sometimes difficulty of telehealth, I work with clients ages 10-25 years old. I have worked with many different disorders and needs of clients. I specialize in Anxiety.
My communication style
I work in a really relaxed and sometimes fun environment. I like to keep all my clients engaged and let them usually take the lead on therapy.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to be a therapist when I was young and diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I was invited to have a conversation with a therapist when I was struggling with accepting and dealing with my new diagnosis. It was a therapist that I saw that made me want to help and make a difference in others lives.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting with my clients pretty direct. With younger clients, I will bring in parents to help guide the client with the goal we are working on. I will gently remind them on what we are focusing on and what we are working towards feeling.
My first session with you
First sessions are usually spent doing intakes and getting to the client. I will bring fun cards to the session and begin to build trust with my client.
