It is also my desire to come alongside and provide you with some perspective, insightful tools and helpful frameworks for what is right and good in life. My hope is for you to engage in our time together feeling more empowered to make the changes in your life that create lasting health both for yourself and in your relationships.
My approach
My theoretical framework is a diversified approach that uses: Christian Counseling paradigm Person-centered and respectful of all beliefs and backgrounds Internal Family Systems Narrative framework Existential focus Cognitive Behavioral therapy Dialectical Behavior therapy
My focus
I work with adults ages 18+ in individual counseling working on issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, and conflict in interpersonal relationships. My desire is to come alongside to facilitate and empower you in developing helpful coping tools, focusing on restoring relationships, learning productive communication, implementing healthy boundaries, working towards and resolving issues. I also want to offer you insight and understanding for the deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck and hold space for you to process and utilize the tools that leads to a more empowered life.
My communication style
I am collaborative in my approach to working with clients, somewhat unstructured in my approach and am less directive unless clients need or ask for that. I often ask thought provoking questions to help clients go deeper and provide presence and attunement throughout as evidence to being genuinely seen and heard. I hope this provides safety, warmth and empowerment along your journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been drawn to helping people, empowering people and wanting the best for others. I started my education in teaching but soon discovered my passion for counseling through clinical mental health as I felt it would allow me to sit with others and facilitate change, healing and empower others to attain a life of greater purpose and peace.
My goals for you
I make sure we identify the goals for therapy at our initial session and focus on them through sessions. Sometimes new goals can develop or sub goals become necessary to focus on in order to reach a more broad goal but I like to come back to our goals throughout therapy to make sure we are working on similar targets and effective best practices.
My first session with you
A first session entails an initial interview session with questions and topics to best understand your background and history. I then make sure we come up with helpful goals for therapy and provide you with a plan or next step recommendations for working on these goals.
