Hey, I am Melody Ware-Massie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and Texas. I enjoy working with clients in-person and virtually with flexible evening and weekend hours. I will assist you with regulating your emotions, healthy coping with stress, improve your relationship with others, and meet your goals.
My approach
I offer a supportive environment where you are safe to discuss anything on your mind. Our session will consist of us building a rapport where you feel comfortable, understanding your needs and working together so you make progress and feel better. I frequently use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focus Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
My focus
The clients I typically work with are children/teens ages 2 years old to 17 years old and young adults ages 18 to 28. I also work with single parents and families who desire to reunite back together. I help clients with anxiety, stress, divorce, Autism, negative school behavior, social isolation, depression, abandonment, low grades, and lack of motivation.
My communication style
I am accommodating, personable, give honest feedback when you want it, and actually listen to understand what you are feeling. My office is not uptight and ultra-professional. You can relax, lean back, let go, laugh, exhale and be your true self, or take off your shoes if you want.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was previously a School Teacher for over 20+ years, a former military wife, and an adoptive parent to several kids. So, helping others is what I love and being flexible is what I know. Being a therapist is my dream career!
My goals for you
I listened to you, we build a connection with trust, we discuss your desired outcomes, "How will you know when counseling is successful?" "What results or changes do you hope to get from therapy?" and then we track your progress.
My first session with you
The first session is 53 minutes of us just relaxing and talking about whatever you feel comfortable with sharing. I have snacks, drinks, fidget toys, games, coloring books, lots of pillows and lamps to welcome you. We will go at your pace, so if you need to stay a little longer or leave earlier that is fine. I will introduce myself, answer your questions and explain what to expect in counseling to you
