Hello, my name is Patrick Martin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (65608), and I am passionate about helping others live a life by their design, by identifying and overcoming life’s obstacles by focusing on their strengths.
My approach
I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. I use a mix of CBT, Solution Focused, and Humanistic approaches in helping my clients overcome their obstacles to a quality life.
My focus
I am passionate about working with others who feel stuck, struggling to realize their full potential, those having interpersonal difficulties (relationship challenges), those struggling with social anxiety, and working with other therapists to excel in their personal and professional goals.
My communication style
I am very conscious in my efforts to create an empathic, non-judgmental space for my clients. I am very solution-focused and enjoy providing actional information, resources and engage in helping clients explore and identify tactics and strategies to move toward their identified goals faster.
My journey to mental healthcare
I love to serve others and entered the mental health space out of my passion to provide others the support and guidance that I wish I had starting out. I come from a very unorthodox background and understand that where you start off in life, does not determine where you end up, and that we can create a life by design at any point we choose, provided the right guidance and resources.
My goals for you
I am very focused on goal-setting, but not rigid about it. I spend adequate time, carefully seeking to understand the historical struggles of my clients to then tease out meaningful goals to work on, and then how to operationalize them.
My first session with you
The first therapy session is focused on gathering history, understanding the problem(s) in-depth, and planning out treatment goals. Therapy is as unique as the client’s experiences, and the process can look and feel different for many.
