I am a licensed marriage and family therapist committed to treating individuals, couples, and families. My clinical interests include treating couples' issues in transition periods (preparing for marriage, parenthood, or divorce), spiritual or religious issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other life transition issues.
My approach
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches in working with clients and the relationships they have in their lives. Using an integrative change model, I highlight the strengths of different theories to fit the client's identified needs.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals, couples, families, and minors (ages 13-17). My specialties include adolescents/teens, adoption, aging, anxiety, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, career counseling, coping skills, depression, divorce, dual diagnosis, emotional disturbance, family conflict, grief, infidelity, job stress, life transitions, mood disorders, parenting, relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem, spirituality, stress, trauma, and PTSD, women's issues, pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum, and marital/pre-marital issues.
My communication style
I consider myself both a nurturing and direct therapist, displaying patience with the treatment process and providing a safe and secure relationship with which clients can process their vulnerabilities. With a client's aspirations in mind, I strongly believe in holding them accountable for the change they desire and moving with them on their path to achieving their goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of George Fox. I went on to receive my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University, where I wrote my thesis on anxiety treatment.
My goals for you
My goal is to work collaboratively with you to identify and overcome the challenges you are facing. I aim to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can process your thoughts and emotions, gain new insights and coping strategies, and make positive changes to improve your mental health and overall well-being.
