My name is Yuki Yoshida and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Orange County and work with clients via telehealth. I work with individual adults and focus on communication, stress management, depression, and anxiety. I enjoy meeting clients where they are on their own unique journey and joining them in finding ways to empower themselves.
My approach
I most frequently use strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and some psychodynamic approaches to help clients. I strive to provide a safe environment for clients to explore their feelings, discover their strengths and work through challenging situations. I am a guide for clients as they make decisions and support them through this process.
My focus
I have enjoyed working most with individual adults who are dealing with life transitions and adjusting to different life situations. Oftentimes these changes can cause symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and stress. I aid clients in finding a potentially different perspective on their situation and finding their own strengths that they can rely on to get through changes.
My communication style
I want to provide a safe space for all my clients where they can share their thoughts and feelings without being judged. I am a firm believer that my clients are the experts on themselves and I am only a guide in their journey. I collaborate with clients to figure out what steps they ultimately want to take to help themselves in their lives.
My journey to mental healthcare
My approach to goal setting with clients is collaborative and is heavily dictated by the client's wants/needs. I will help clients figure out what will be attainable throughout our time together and check in periodically to monitor progress.
My goals for you

My first session with you
My first session with a client will mostly focus on what has brought them into therapy and ask them questions to better understand their situation and perspectives. The first session is really about seeing if I and a potential client will be a good fit for each other and to see if I will be able to support them in the way that they are looking to be supported.
