I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 6.5 years of experience working in school districts and Riverside County clinics. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University.
My approach
In treatment, I like using an eclectic approach, because I believe one type of modality will not work for all people. My therapeutic toolkit includes Art Therapy, Attachment-based, CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and Trauma Focused techniques, among others. I tailor my approach to best meet each individual client's needs.
My focus
Since becoming an MFT, I have worked with young children, teens, and older mature adults from all walks of life. I focus on seeing individuals and specialize in treating a wide range of issues including addiction, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, child abuse, depression, eating disorders, family conflict, gender identity, grief, OCD, PTSD, relationship issues, and women's issues.
My communication style
I take pride in being an open-minded, empathetic, genuine, and patient therapist. I see these qualities as my greatest strengths in providing effective treatment. My communication style is culturally sensitive, compassionate, and client-centered.
My journey to mental healthcare
Before becoming a therapist, I served about 4 years in the Navy. Those experiences ignited my passion for helping others grow and become more self-aware. As a multiracial individual myself, I understand that there are differences between cultures. I consider myself culturally competent, but also view learning about cultural differences as a continuous journey that I look forward to.
My goals for you
My goal is to provide you with the highest quality of care to help you develop greater self-understanding, coping skills, and improved well-being. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore your challenges and work toward meaningful change and growth.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy and how I can best support you. We'll collaborate to define your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. You can expect me to be engaged, attentive, and focused on understanding your unique story and perspective from the very start of our work together.
